Telling Family Stories with Mixed Mediums

This class series integrates mixed media techniques, visual literacy, narrative, with family history, memorabilia and photographs.


This class series is for:

Adults & Seniors. Open to all levels - beginner to experienced.

This photography class series is designed to explore the power of visual storytelling. Through hands-on instruction, creative assignments, and peer collaboration, students will learn not only how to use their cameras but also how to craft meaningful narratives that reflect their experiences, cultures, and communities.


This class series is for:

Beginner to intermediate photographers with an interest in storytelling and community documentation. Teens and adults,  ages 18 + , with a focus on BIPOC and underrepresented community voices.


Supplies needed:

Bring your own camera!

Call for Visual Art Classes:

Visual Literacy Workshops – How can one read a painting or a piece of art? What is the connection between creating a work of art and telling a story? We are seeking classes and instructors who can explore these connections between literacy, story telling, and visual arts.


We are particularly looking for classes in the following areas:

  • Mixed Media

  • Painting

  • Drawing

  • Collage


Eligibility:

  • Applicants must live in METRO Atlanta, GA

  • Applicants must be able to teach classes in person at the ArtsXchange.

  • Applicants must be experienced teaching artists with minimum of 5 years teaching experience.
