A Sistagraphy Exhibition
February 16th, 2019- March 31st, 2019
Curator- Courtney Brooks
Opened for Black History Month on February 16, 2019, and ending in March 30th, 2019 for Women's National History month, SHERO is an experience that expresses the light and strength women carry physically, mentally and spiritually.
SHERO is dedicated to African American women in film and photography, paying homage to Sistagraphy , an Atlanta, Georgia-based collective of African American women photographers who capture moments and document events that often awaken the sleeping conscious, and weave together strong social statements. Sistagraphy photographers often explore and embrace theme-based imagery and visual documentaries that have told, and will continue to tell, stories of life’s journeys.
