ABOUT THE FEATURE POET
Carlos Barboza is Mexican spoken word poet from Atlanta, whose work covers topics such as politics, social issues, mental health, and what it’s like to be a minority in America. A former member of the Java Speaks Slam Team and current member of The Art Amok board of directors, he has performed for organizations such as the Center for Civil and Human Rights and the ACLU.
If you ask him though, he’s just a good looking dude and bear fighting enthusiast who writes poetry.
ABOUT THE EVENT
After two years of virtual open mics, the XChange Open Mic is back in person! This open mic is a space to share your stories, songs, poems or upcoming events. The ArtsXchange is a community arts center located in East Point, Georgia, committed to the arts. XChange Open Mic is Hosted by Theresa Davis a National Poetry Slam Champion and producer of literary events all over Atlanta.
This is not a space for homophobia, racism, sexism, trans-phobia, or hate speech.
List opens at 7:30 p.m.
Mic opens at 8 p.m.
