About the Event

This course — led by Dr. Tiffany Mingo, I Am Arts founder and longtime dance educator — will be a fun, interactive, and memorable bonding experience to introduce families to dance.

Games and stories will teach balance, rhythm, movement, coordination, and modern dance technique.

This dancer and parent class will also include follow-along dance sequences that focus on coordination,

listening, simple rhythm, and patterns. Compositionally, families will explore mathematics concepts such

as symmetry, shapes, patterns, and possible relations of lines from their interacting bodies.

It is part of "The Family That Creates Together" a series of 16 free classes taught by ArtsXchange studio residents on various dates, March-June. Youth of all ages and their families are invited to participate.

Funding for "The Family that Creates Together" is provided by Georgia Council for the Arts through the appropriations of the Georgia General.  Georgia Council for the Arts also receives support from its partner agency – the National Endowment for the Arts. Additional funding provided by Community Foundation of Greater Atlanta and the Metropolitan Atlanta Arts Fund, the Fulton County Arts and Culture under the direction of the Fulton County Board of Commissioners.
