About the Event

THE FAMILY THAT CREATES TOGETHER: Creating Theatre From the Ground Up!

Tuesday-Friday, June 8-10 @ 6-7:30 PM & Saturday, June 11 @ 1-2:30 PM

This course — taught by Destiny Renee, actor and education director and Heidi Howard, artistic director, both at 7 Stages Theatre — explores theatre arts from coming up with an idea to taking it to the stage. 7 Stages specializes in devised theatre. Together, participants will walk through the creative process of theatre production. The workshops will build upon each other, starting with the initial concept/theme, then exploring design, creative development, and ending with performance.

It is part of "The Family That Creates Together" a series of 16 free classes taught by ArtsXchange studio residents on various dates, March-June. Youth of all ages and their families are invited to participate.

Funding for "The Family that Creates Together" is provided by Georgia Council for the Arts through the appropriations of the Georgia General. Georgia Council for the Arts also receives support from its partner agency – the National Endowment for the Arts. Additional funding provided by Community Foundation of Greater Atlanta and the Metropolitan Atlanta Arts Fund, the Fulton County Arts and Culture under the direction of the Fulton County Board of Commissioners.
