About the Event

You're invited to join our writing workshop! Whether you're a seasoned writer or just starting out, this workshop is designed to help you improve your craft and take your writing to the next level.

The workshop will take place on the second Saturday of every month at 2pm in the Riley Memorial Library at the ArtsXchange.  During the workshop, you'll have the opportunity to share your work and receive feedback from your peers and the instructor. You'll also learn new writing techniques and strategies that can help you become a better writer.

About Sagi

Sagi Shadur is a published poet who has been making waves in the literary world since 2018. His captivating verses have found their way onto numerous platforms, including radio programs, literary magazines, anthologies, and esteemed Israeli newspapers such as "Haaretz," "Maariv," and "Makor Rishon." Renowned for his dynamic performances, he has graced the stage at various poetry events, leaving an indelible impact on audiences. Notably, he has participated in prominent gatherings like "Israel's Poetry Slam," "Norman's Poetry," "Du-et," and many others.

In 2019, Sagi co-founded "Shirat HaKrach," an organization dedicated to fostering the engagement of young people with poetry in Israel. Despite the challenges posed by COVID-19 lockdowns, he successfully organized poetry-reading events and played a crucial role in editing the organization's online magazine. Throughout their career, Sagi has honed his editorial skills, meticulously refining hundreds of poems by diverse Israeli poets.

About the Workshop

The Art of Sound In Poetry

This two-hour session will delve into the captivating world of sound in poetry. All you need for

this workshop is a notebook and your favorite writing tools (or a computer if you prefer writing


During this workshop, we will investigate the use of consonant sounds in poetry, examining how

they contribute to the overall atmosphere of a poem. We will also explore related sounds in

phonetics, which can help us to enhance our poems and expand our creative possibilities.

Additionally, we will discuss how repeating certain sounds in a poem can subconsciously impact

the audience and learn how to utilize this technique to increase engagement with our work.
