About the Event

You're invited to join our writing workshop! Whether you're a seasoned writer or just starting out, this workshop is designed to help you improve your craft and take your writing to the next level.

The workshop will take place on the second Saturday of every month at 2pm in the Riley Memorial Library at the ArtsXchange. During the workshop, you'll have the opportunity to share your work and receive feedback from your peers and the instructor. You'll also learn new writing techniques and strategies that can help you become a better writer.

About our facilitator

Jill Spisak turned to her passion for poetry to work her way through the death of

her long time lover Sandra Hamer. Finally these poems are collected into a book,

Witness Cremation, which has just been published by Karios Literary Magazine.

She has an earlier chapbook, Rachel, and has published poems in various

journals. She has poems forthcoming from Sinister Wisdom and a memorial issue

of Common Lives/Lesbian Lives. She is scheduled to feature at Cliterati an open

mic at Charis Books and More in September 2023. She reads at open mics

around Atlanta and is often found at ArtsXchange workshops, slams, and mics,

and at Java Speaks Virtual Open Mic where she has also featured.

She loves open mics which keep her writing consistently, and slams where she

hones her performance of her poems.

She lives on a lake, and crews on other people’s sail boats for the calm joy of

sailing.
