WHAT TO EXPECT
Students are required to attend all classes in the series.
Students will be asked to provide daily check ins/evaluations.
Light snacks will be provided.
Supplies will be provided.
WHAT TO BRING
Students will need to bring a packed lunch each day to the program (Required).
Students are also invited (but not required), to bring the following items to the program:
Composition notebook (for writing and drawing)
Writing utensils (pencils or pens)

ABOUT THE CLASSES / WORKSHOPS
Through guided workshops, collaborative projects, and exposure to professional tools and techniques, students will discover how creative communication shapes the world around them. From brainstorming story concepts to showcasing their finished zine at the week’s end, each participant will take home a tangible reflection of their ideas and growing confidence as creators. Parents can feel confident knowing this program balances fun and focus, keeping minds active, imaginations engaged, and communication skills sharp during spring break.

ABOUT THE TEACHING ARTIST
Theresa Davis
Theresa Davis is a multifaceted educator, storyteller, poet, and author whose influence spans across multiple artistic and educational domains. With over thirty years of experience as a classroom teacher, primarily at Horizons School, she has been dedicated to developing cross-curricular programs for elementary and middle school students. Her deep commitment to education extends beyond the classroom as she now serves as a curriculum developer and teaching artist for notable arts organizations in Atlanta, including Georgia Tech, The Alliance Theater, and 7 Stages Theater.
A celebrated performance poet and poetry slam champion, Theresa has captivated audiences nationwide. She has competed individually and on teams in poetry slams for over a decade, culminating in her 2011 victory at the Women of the World Poetry Slam. Her poetry collections, "After This We Go Dark" and "Drowned: A Mermaid’s Manifesto," published by Sibling Rivalry Press, have earned critical acclaim, including being named an American Library Association Honoree and receiving the "Ten Books All Georgians Should Read" award.
SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
This program is eligable for Scholarship.
The Southeast Community Cultural Center d/b/a ArtsXchange is pleased to offer partial and full scholarships for our youth programs and summer camps. One application for one student. If you are applying for multiple youth please submit separate forms for each youth.
Additionally, scholarships are ineligible for classes/camps/workshops that have already been paid for.
