About the Event
For this two-day art series students will need to bring in sneakers to decorate, acrylic paint, paint brushes. Drawing pencils, erasers and a sketchbook. On day one the instructor will share examples of actual sneakers that are designed with items that have significant meaning to him and share his process with the students. Next, students will have an opportunity to create a list of things that have meaning to them and consider how they could incorporate their topics on their sneakers. The instructor will share his examples of the concept of Sneakerhedz on pairs of sneakers that he has decorated that have musical and artistic themes. Next, students will begin the process of creating unique designs and symbols on their chosen pair of sneakers. On day two students will continue to push boundaries by incorporating various color combinations and symbolic imagery on their sneakers. Student success will be evaluated based on the individual uniqueness that they exhibit through their expressive creations. There is the option of creating our art on Sneakers or on Canvas.
