Submitted images should depict people, places, objects, activities, or environments the photographer has personally encountered or has a direct relationship to.
Artwork created using generative AI as a primary creative tool will not be considered for inclusion in the exhibition.
The jury panel will evaluate only original, artist-driven photographic compositions.
Artist Statement Required
The submission should be something personally significant to the photographer. Please describe the reason for this photograph, and why it’s special to you.
Please read all information before filling out application form. Application form at bottom of page.
Our attention is constantly being pulled in different directions. News, conflict, uncertainty, responsibilities, and the pace of everyday life can make it difficult to recognize the people, places, experiences, and moments that help keep us grounded.
Between the Noise invites photographers to turn their attention toward what sustains them.
It may be a place you return to, a person who brings you comfort, a family memory, a familiar landscape, a spiritual practice, a daily ritual, a cherished object, or an unexpected moment of stillness.
The photographer should have a personal relationship to what is depicted. Submitted images should reflect something that holds genuine meaning and offers a sense of connection, perspective, grounding, or renewal.
The exhibition is not simply about peaceful or beautiful images. It is about what we choose to notice and value amid the many things competing for our attention.
As visitors move through Between the Noise, we hope they encounter not only the personal sources of meaning and renewal identified by the photographers, but also begin to consider their own. The exhibition invites us to look more closely at the people, places, memories, rituals, and moments that help us remain grounded, connected, and present within the complexity of everyday life.
What do you choose to notice between the noise?
