Eligibility:
Applicants must live In Atlanta, GA area.
Applicants must be able to teach classes in person at the ArtsXchange.
Applicants must be experienced teaching artists with minimum of 5 years teaching experience.

Call for Visual Art Classes:
Visual Literacy Workshops – How can one read a painting or a piece of art? What is the connection between creating a work of art and telling a story? We are seeking classes and instructors who can explore these connections between literacy, story telling, and visual arts.
We are particularly looking for classes in the following areas:
Mixed Media
Painting
Drawing
Collage
Class Series Requirements:
Classes Series must be taught in person at the ArtsXchange.
Class Series must consist of a minimum of five (5) classes, no more than eight (8) classes.
Classes must take place between Tuesday, April 1, 2025 - Wednesday, December 10, 2025.
Each class must be 2.5 Hrs in duration.
15 Min - Attendance / Introduction
2 Hrs - Class duration
15 Min - Close out / Student evaluation submission
Classes should be designed for students ages twelve and older (12+).
Classes can be for youth only, seniors only or intergenerational.
Classes must be able to accommodate a minimum class size ten (10) students.
Class description and syllabus must demonstrate connections between visual art, storytelling and language literacy.
Class participants will be required / strongly encouraged to participate in the entire class series.
Teaching Artist Compensation
Experienced teaching artists rate: $250 per class.
Teaching artist compensation will be paid at the completion of the series with accompanying final report. Final report template will be provided.
Class Materials and Supplies
Supply list has to be approved in advance and must correspond to class design and outcomes.
Approved Materials and Supplies will be provided by the ArtsXchange.
