The ArtsXchange mission is to advance artists’ careers and strengthen their impact on society and the communities they reach.

When the Arts Exchange started in 1983 it reshaped the landscape of the Metro Atlanta arts scene: It was the first fully integrated center of its kind—multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary and inter-generational. Over the years it has maintained its place as a center for developing individual artists, a gathering place for community events and efforts, and as an in-town artist colony for incubating and presenting art of all disciplines—from the emerging to the experimental.

Our original facility included 18 resident studio artists, a recording studio, two galleries, two dance studios and a year-round theatre/performing arts/music season, with work ranging from avant-garde to traditional. From self-taught artists to Guggenheim Fellows, artists at the Arts Exchange represented a diverse mix of multidisciplinary talent that attracted a multicultural audience across economic backgrounds.

As the Arts Exchange moves forward into a new chapter for the organization, we are adopting a new name—ArtsXchange—and an amazing new location in East Point, but we remain committed to our work in the Greater Atlanta arts community and would like for you to connect with us!
